We can offer you ‘Sleep sedation’ ( intravenous IV sedation) whilst undergoing different dental procedures. It is administered by a qualified and experienced medical doctor who monitors the complete procedure. Sometimes called “Twilight Sedation” it is often used by medical specialists to perform some procedures. It uses a combination of sedative and pain relieving drugs to create a drowsy relaxation before and during your dental procedure. This is a modern, safe and highly effective technique that will make your visit to the dentist a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable experience.

For simpler procedures an inexpensive form of relaxation can be achieved using a ‘Penthrox’ inhaler, used by doctors and ambulance paramedics to sedate patients.

It is important particularly before Sleep sedation to not eat any food (even snacks) for 6 hours before treatment, nor drink any liquids for 2 hours before.

Of course, you are not allowed to drive after undergoing either sedation technique.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
